Soil Improvement Works
While pile foundation is used to support very heavy structures by transferring the loadings through the soft soil layers to into stiff soils and bedrocks, soil improvement serves to strengthen the soft soil layers to improve its bearing capacities. Cement is mixed into the soft ground to improve the shear strength of the weak soils and is commonly used for Excavation, Earth Retaining Stabilising Structure and Heavy Vehicular Access.
